Victorian pools are rare in period photographs, so the best modern versions borrow the era's ornament: a wrought-iron fence and gates, patterned tile borders, urns on pedestals, a gazebo or glasshouse pool room, and planting of roses, ferns and hydrangeas. Keep the pool shape classic and let the ironwork and tile carry the style.
