Brick Walkway to Half-Timbered Tudor Entry
At night, path lights and landscape lighting illuminate a red brick herringbone walkway leading through the front yard toward a half-timbered Tudor house featuring steep gables and leaded glass windows.
Design notes
Tudor design answers the house. Look for half-timbered gables and tall chimneys echoed in dark timber pergolas and arbours, herringbone brick and flagstone terraces, low stone walls, and hedges of yew and box that give the garden formal rooms near the house before it loosens into roses, wisteria and lawn. Leaded glass, copper lanterns and a slightly storybook proportion keep the look coherent.
What to look for
- Three layers: canopy, shrubs, groundcover
- How hardscape and planting share the edges
- Plants suited to the climate, not just the photo
